In 1999 a group of concerned citizens from Lancaster County convened to address one of the most pressing issues of our time: father absence. After assessing the needs of low-income fathers and developing a holistic plan to addresses them, the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina favorably approved the group's request for funding and Lancaster Fatherhood Project was begun in 2001 under the umbrella of Hope Center. By 2002, the project was flourishing and growing and established a standalone 501(c)3.
